Are You Unplugged?

There is no power shortage in heaven. God is not ever in a recession. His grace is sufficient to meet every need. What is grace? Grace is the power of the Holy Spirit coming to us freely, enabling us to do with ease what we could never do on our own. You might find other definitions stating that grace is God’s divine favor and that is certainly true, but it was important to me to learn that His grace was the power I needed to live my life in victory. Grace can be received only through faith, and that is one of the main reasons why we must resist fear. When we allow fear to rule us, we unwittingly receive what Satan has planned for our lives instead of what God has planned.

Faith is our plug into the grace of God. Think of a lamp. The lamp can give light only if it is plugged into a power source. If it is unplugged, it will not work, no matter how many times we turn the switch on and off. I was once in a hotel room trying to get a lamp to work and in frustration thought, Can’t these hotels even provide a lamp that works?! Then someone from the maintenance department came to my room, only to discover the lamp was unplugged. I ask again, “Are you unplugged?” Have you let fear steal your faith? If you have, don’t worry about it. Just decide right now that you are going to have a new attitude, one that is filled with boldness, courage and faith.

We cannot please God without faith, so it stands to reason that we must work with the Holy Spirit at all times to resist fear and stay filled with faith.
