Flirting Interestingly but Quit Playing Games!

Playing games around relationships just to create something by making the guy on the other side of the fence jealous is a bad idea, as jealousy can be excruciatingly uncomfortable. People normally try to get themselves to feel much better by inciting jealousy. This is achieved by flirting with others in front of your partner most of the time, or constantly claiming how someone you work with at the office is so fun, witty, and attractive. You could also go out of your way by talking about past lovers and how they didn't make you feel any better during the course of those relationships.

Of course, this should not suggest that you pretend to your partner that there really are no attractive people in this world, though you could acknowledge it without having to resort to using it as your relationship ammunition. Should your partner become unfaithful to you, know that it’s a reflection of him, not you. It’s also much better if he doesn’t have the ammo to recoil and fire back, “who’s always talking about that other guy?” or “can you blame me? You’re the one who’s flirting around.” Do not wait for the conversation to degrade into this. Ditch the game-playing tactic, and keep your dignity intact.

One of the least healthy reactions to a relationship is measuring your partner against others. If your partner believes that he or she won’t measure up to others, just playing the measuring up game could be enough to make him or her want to back out of the relationship. I know I would. I am not prepared to have people measure me or compare me to others. If a partner of mine decided to play that game, I already know my value, and if he doesn’t, then tough! I certainly wouldn't play the game with him and would prefer to end a relationship than to live with someone who plays mind games.
