One of the most common mistakes men do in terms of clothing is to wear oversized shirts, or pants or both. And then they look like a sack of potatoes.
On the other side but less frequently, you have guys wearing very tight clothing making them appear gay.
For this reason, you should do your best to find the appropriate sizes for your body shape. This makes a huge difference between looking sexy or sloppy or worse, gay.
Choosing The Right Shirt Size
Regardless of your body shape only if you are a really big guy, fitted shirts always look better on you. The reason is there is a lot less extra fabric this makes your shoulders look broader, your chest more apparent and waists smaller. You also look leaner and more muscular, and overall sexier!
In terms of t-shirts you have S, M, L and XL sizes. Choose the size that makes your chest stand out.
For this, look yourself in front of the mirror. See if you are able to notice the design of your chest slightly appearing.
If you stretch your arms sideways and see a lot of fabric hanging then very probably the t-shirt is too large. Otherwise, if you notice stretch marks appearing next to your armpits then most likely the t-shirt is too tight.
The right size should not be too tight nor too large but in-between.
Also always try your t-shirt on before you purchase it. Sometimes the S from a particular t-shirt design might be the M from another design, etc.
You may also ask the opinion of the employee working in the clothing shop. But often, it may be hard to get a honest opinion. It depends on many different variables. If they are looking to get an easy sell; or, if they even have any fashion sense at all.
So always consider that after they shared their opinion.
When it comes to finding the right button up shirt size then do the following：
1 - Try the shirt on and then button it up until the top last button
2- If the collar is nearly suffocating you then the shirt is too tight. If not, then try to fit your fist inside your collar. If you are able to do this and your whole fist fits inside your collar then the shirt is too big. You should only be able to fit one or two fingers there.
3- Now the arm length, just stretch one of your arms down with your hand opened. See if you have about an inch of distance from the end of the sleeve to your thumb knuckle. If yes, then it isn’t the right length for you. Otherwise, if the sleeve is hiding your thumb then isn’t a bit too long. Or, if the sleeve is sitting near your wrist then the arm length is too short.
Choosing The Right Pants Size
1 - The right pants length size. You should put your shoes on first. The pants should not be too short nor too long. If you see bagging near the ankles then the pants have too much length. Otherwise, if you have your socks showing off like you were Michael Jackson then they are too short. There should only be a notch of your socks visible.
2- The crotch area or aka the rise. I recommend a mid- rise. But this depends on the style of pants you want to wear.
3- The leg width, a lot of guys commonly wear pants that are too large making them look sloppy. If you are not going for a hip-hop style then there is no reason for this. The sexiest fit is normally the slim fit. If you find that fit too tight then try on a regular or standard fit pants.
4- Pants back pockets. You want regular sized back pockets this makes your ass look better.
